So, what are Tofu Kebobs?
Vegans can eat kebobs too! With creativity, we can transform plant-based ingredients into something just as delicious and satisfying.
Tofu Kebobs are a plant-based twist on the traditional kebab, featuring a mix of tofu and spices to create a flavorful and satisfying dish. Instead of meat, these kebobs use firm tofu, which is seasoned with a blend of spices, herbs, and other ingredients.
The mixture is shaped into kebobs and cooked until crispy, making them a tasty and nutritious option for those following a vegan diet or simply looking to enjoy a meat-free meal.

Why I love making Tofu Kebobs
I love making Tofu Kebobs because they are a fantastic way to enjoy a hearty, satisfying meal without using meat. The combination of spices and fresh herbs makes these Kebobs incredibly flavorful and versatile.
I serve these for a quick weeknight dinner or as a fun appetizer for friends and they never disappoint. They are also a great way to incorporate more plant-based meals into my diet, offering a nutritious option that’s full of flavor. This year I will be serving these kebobs as an appetizer at our Thanksgiving meal.
What is needed to cook my Tofu Kebobs
To cook these Tofu Kebobs, you’ll need firm tofu, red onion, garlic, and a selection of spices such as ground coriander, nutritional yeast, ground fennel, garam masala, turmeric, and chili powder.

Fresh mint and coriander add vibrant flavor, while tomato sauce and flour (or breadcrumbs) help bind the mixture together.

You’ll also need oil for frying, or parchment paper if you prefer to bake them.
How I cook my Tofu Kebobs
I start by draining the tofu to ensure it’s not too moist, which helps achieve a better texture.I use Tofu press but you can also press the tofu between towels and place a heavy object on top to squeeze out excess water. Once the tofu is well drained, I crumble it into a bowl.
Mix it with finely chopped red onion, minced garlic, and a variety of spices. Adding fresh mint, tomato sauce, and a bit of flour or breadcrumbs helps to bind everything together.
I mix well and then shape the mixture into small Kebobs.
Fry them in a bit of oil until they are golden and crispy. This method yields delicious, well-textured Kebobs that are perfect for any meal.
