How to incorporate mindfulness in daily life?

Being mindful is an everyday practice like yoga or meditation. It is a way of checking in with ourselves at all times, which is easier said than done! We are engaged in endless tasks all day. Our minds are always occupied in thoughts and worries. It seems almost impossible to break our daily pattern of this ceaseless doing and thinking. However, being mindful offers us a way to break the cycle of distractions and explore a healthier way of living. With some effort and practice, we can be mindful anywhere and at any time. Let’s explore five ways we can incorporate mindfulness into our everyday activities

1. Be Present: Don’t let your mind stray to past memories or future worries. Paying full attention to the present moment will keep you grounded and connected to everything around you. Concentrate on what is happening right now at this moment and don’t ponder on past events or future plans. Being present and exerting our ability to be mindful makes us happier.

2. Pay attention to your environment. Focus on your surroundings. Observe sights, smells, sounds, textures, and people in your environment. In addition to your surroundings watch yourself with full attention. Focus on the task on hand before moving on to the next one. Slow and deliberate attention brings us back to the present moment which is the main purpose and goal of being mindful.
