Chiropractic Therapy: How It Works and What Chiropractors Do?

What Chiropractors do

Chiropractors are trained healthcare professionals. They often treat problems related to the musculoskeletal disorders. Chiropractors do not prescribe any drugs and they do not perform any surgeries. However, they emphasize on the body’s intrinsic ability to heal itself. Their treatment typically involves manual therapy including spinal manipulation and exercise. In Addition, other forms of treatment like nutritional counseling, and ergonomics training may be used as well. While mainly what chiropractors do is to reduce pain, they may also aim to improve patients’ habits. Importantly, they educate patients about postures, ergonomics, and other therapies. Their aim is to basically work holistically to restore the proper alignment in body.

What do chiropractors treat

Chiropractic care is sought in treating a whole range of health issues related to the musculoskeletal system of the physical body. They are trained to approach patient care in a systematic manner similar to that used in conventional medicine. Their main aim is to restore the proper alignment in the body. Before Chiropractors diagnose and treat any condition, they try to understand the health issue by interviewing the patient and obtaining their detailed health history. They also perform a physical examination. They may also use lab tests or diagnostic imaging. After getting all the necessary information they develop a treatment plan for the patient.
